CARE HOME SUSTAINABILITY MODEL
Many residential care facilities in Zimbabwe face rising operating costs, ageing infrastructure, unreliable utilities and heavy dependence on donations. These pressures can affect the quality and continuity of care provided to residents.
Zimhope’s Care Home Sustainability Model provides a practical framework for strengthening governance, improving financial and operational systems, upgrading essential infrastructure and developing sustainable sources of income.
The model can be adapted for facilities supporting older people, orphans and vulnerable children, and people living with disabilities or other special needs. Zimhope works alongside each facility’s governing body and management team—the facility retains its independence while receiving targeted technical, fundraising and project support.
